Peter Fiske & his Whips
A Foundations Class

This class will be held at the Wicked Grounds Annex, just next door to Wicked Grounds at 293 8th street. If you have any trouble finding it, please ask a Foundations member at Wicked Grounds or ask one of the friendly baristas.


If you are new to Foundations:

You must have a sponsor to attend a Foundations class. If you already know a current Foundations student you can ask them to sponsor you. If you need a sponsor the easiest way to get one is to come find us at our meet-and-greet held each Monday before class at Wicked Grounds (289 8th St. San Francisco) from 6:00-6:30 pm. We’ll be the people wearing the black Foundations t-shirts and/or leather vests.

Dress code: Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Street wear before entering.


Please be early or on time. Doors open at 6:30, class starts promptly at 7:00. Doors are closed to entry with the start of class.


Class Description:
Peter will be bringing a selection of his renowned collection of antique & vintage whips from around the world & will talk about them & when & where they come from & how they are used. Peter will discuss safety in using whips & how to negotiate a scene to get full connection & love expression out of it. Then he will do a short scene with his friend Al Parso. After a short break, students will be able to touch, feel & try out Peter's whips & ask questions.

Peter Fiske has been an active Leatherman since 1964. His play skills & safe intense play are well known in the Community.


Presenter Bio:
Daddy Peter Fiske has been a Leatherman for 54 years & still counting. Peter came out in March 1964 in New York but moved to San Francisco in March 1966. Peter moved back to New York in December 1968 & was at the Stonewall many, many nights until moving back to SF 3 days before the rebellion in June 1969.

He is a member & West Coast chairman of Stonewall Veterans Association.

Peter was on the board & president of the Aids Emergency Fund in San Francisco & is a co-founder of the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund of SF. He has served on the SF Pride Board from 2002 to 2005. A lifelong activist he went on actions with Act Up SF in the 80s & was arrested, in 2009 at age 64, with 250 others for sitting down on Van Ness Avenue/SF the day the Calif. Supreme upheld Prop 8 in California. He was a member of the Koalas MC club from 1966 to 1969. The Peter Fiske Collection has over 1000 whips & Peter likes to say he has more whips than the Smithsonian…& his get used. He has been a Presenter at over 100 Leather events over the years & has been a mentor to 2 generations of Leather folks. He is a strong supporter of inclusion for transgender people in the Leather Community

Peter is Chairman Emeritus of the 15 Association & the longest member having joined in May 1980. He is also a member of Delta International, & Avatar Los Angeles. Peter is Leather Daddy XXXI of San Francisco.

His awards include two Pantheon of Leather awards for Northern California & Lifetime Achievement. He was awarded the SF LGBT Pride Heritage of Pride Award in 2006 for longtime service to the SF LGBT community. He was inducted into the Leather Hall of Fame at CLAW in 2017.

Daddy Peter believes in safe play, being kind & that everyone has an equal place in our Leather Community and in the LGBT community.

He supports diversity, equality & inclusion for all in the Leather & LGBT Communities.
