Oh! Futomomo: An Introduction to Transitions in Suspension

We love it because itís hard, right? From her experience bottoming, Blue knows she loves the futomomo tie because it is such a challenge to conquer. As a rigger, she wants for her partners to be able to move through the challenge of it, but with a futomomo tie that sucks only in the right ways.

Blue will show a futomomo tie she has found to be very sustainable in suspension, and use it in a sequence that is a great start to exploring transitions, with several options for variation. Tips from both the rigger and bottom side of a futomomo will be shared.

This class is best suited for students with a solid beginnersí experience in suspension who are looking to explore transitions and creating new sequences. Riggers should have proficiency in a box tie or chest harness, and knowledge and experience with line management and lock-offs. Bottoms should have experience in suspension and in a chest harness in tension. Presenters reserve the right to ask any students to keep their ties on the ground if there is concern for safety.
