Curious about going to a public play party, but feeling a little unsure about what to expect? Public events can be a great way to connect with others in the scene or meet up with a play partner in a welcoming and safe arena. As with any community, there are rules of engagement. Society of Janus’s Dungeon Introduction and Etiquette class will get you started so you feel comfortable. We will spend an hour in the welcoming and comfy confines of the SF Citadel discussing what to expect at a public play party. What are the rules, written and unwritten? We'll provide you with solid expectations about what a play party is and isn’t, along with a good sense of what to wear and how to act so that you are respectful and welcomed. We’ll take you on a tour of the space and talk about where you can watch the action, how you can take part in it, and how best to socialize.

For those of you who want to stay for the party that night, you will get $5 off admission, and we’ll do a bit of show and tell with some toys and continue answering any questions you might have. By the end of the night, we hope you to feel comfortable at a play party, whether you go to meet people, to watch, or to play. And we hope you’ll meet a few friendly faces to say hi to at future parties and events.

Singles, couples, friends…everyone of any role, gender, relationship structure and orientation are welcome to join in the fun and informative night out.

The venue is accessible from Powell St BART. Its right next door to the Pandora Karaoke bar. Look for the red door to the right of them. There is a parking lot just to the left, and a couple around the corner near Farmer Browns, and there is often street parking around as well.

This social is one of many events offered by Society of Janus We also host a Newcomer Only Coffee Social for people who are new to kink or the community and are looking to meet fellow newcomers in a safe environment where you can get questions answered and learn about the many resources available. Our monthly munch (vanilla setting for socializing) is a fantastic friendly place to meet new people. We also host other educational programs and social events. Being part of this amazing San Francisco kink community is incredibly fun. We look forward to meeting you and helping you discover what you are looking for in the community.
