Sex Magick for Kinksters
A Foundations Class

Cost: Suggested donation of $10-$15

Dress code: Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Street wear before entering

Doors open 6:30-7 sharp, class starts promptly at 7:00

Class Description:
The traditional definition of magick is "the art and science of changing consciousness in conformity with Will." We could also say it's a way of moving and transforming energy and perception. In terms of our life work, magick is a set of tools that allows us to get out of our own way to more effectively do our work in the world.

The magickian's tool kit includes techniques such as ecstatic trance, symbolic ritual, polarity work, breathing techniques, sensual immersion, and more. The sex magickian specifically works with the energies raised in solo or partnered play as fuel for their spellwork or life Work.

Those tools should seem very familiar to us kinksters. You may not be a magickian, but most of us are playing around in the magickian's tool kit.

This class will explore some basic information on how to understand the potent energies invoked in D/s and S/m. We'll talk about the nature of the soul, how to engage the deeper mind, creating a safe container for a scene, and what one can do with the energies we raise in BDSM play. Whether you believe in magick, want to believe in magick, or think this is all just a fun metaphor for how the mind works, you are sure to gain new tools and perspectives on BDSM play by attending this class. Presenter Bio:
Miriam BatAsherah Green is a Thelemite, Witch and coffee nerd living in Oakland, CA.

With an academic background in Jewish studies, Mir has been actively studying Hermetic Qabala for twenty years and Jewish Kabbalah for nearly as long. Mir can read and speak Hebrew at the “Hungry Little Caterpillar” reading level. Miriam is a proud member of Scarlet Woman Lodge and Blazing Star Oasis, OTO and is an initiated Reclaiming Witch. In addition to magickal and occult topics, Mir presents a Kink 101 series of classes at Wicked Grounds, writes an Ask Wicked Mir kink advice column, and is a co-host of the Kinky Queer Revolution podcast.

Mir is available for teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area, less frequently in Austin, and pretty much anywhere else you will fly them. You may find out more about Mir's classes at the (very infrequently updated!) Miriam's Well site: miriamgreen.wordpress.com/

Mir’s crash test dummy demo bottom is impossiblepain. This switchy sadomasochist has been privileged to teach at Foundations, the SF Citadel, and Dark Odyssey: Surrender. They co-host Crave, a quarterly play party for women and nonbinary folks, at the SF Citadel. Still proud to be a San Franciscan, they moonlight as a mental health professional in service to our queer community. They kink to experience connection and to laugh at the darkness, and because it just feels good.
