Stay Fit: Walk & Talk in Lafayette with Society of Janus

This event takes place at Lafayette Reservoir. Please arrive 5-15 minutes early if you want to use the bathroom or stretch. We will walk one lap (2.7 miles) around the reservoir starting at 9:05am.

Being active is the secret to staying healthy, and walking is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to get moving. So how about joining the new SOJ walking group? It's a great way to get exercise into your day and build stronger relationships with kinky-minded friends.

The group meets on the third Saturday of each month at the Lafayette Reservoir. Meet at the main entrance bathroom area on the right when you come up the hill. It's the West side of the parking lot for those of us who are directional sluts.

Guidelines for Walks

We will not walk if it's raining.

Cell phones and headphones during walks are not encouraged. This is intended to be a social outing as much as a fitness outing.

This walk is intended for people of varying fitness levels. Everyone is welcome.

Dress for walking. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. This is a family park, so no kinky attire. Conversations can be kinky, but be respectful of others enjoying the park.

Proper Walking Technique

Follow these easy rules for perfect walking form:

About Lafayette Reservoir

The Lafayette Reservoir is located off Mt. Diablo Boulevard on the west end of Lafayette. Completed in 1933 the reservoir is a standby supply of drinking water for East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) customers. The 925-acre site with a 1.4 billion gallon reservoir was opened to public recreation in 1966 with hiking, fishing, boating and picnicking.

There is an entrance fee ($7) to the main lot as well as short term (metered) parking ($1.50). Annual passes are also available.
