Mindful Movement for Kinksters

You’re invited to a new weekly class at Wicked Grounds that is open to anyone seeking stress relief and more relaxation in their lives. There’s no experience necessary and you’re encouraged to arrive in clothing that you feel comfortable moving in. Please arrive scent-free out of respect for those with chemical sensitivities. This link is a quick guide in attending fragrance-free events:…

Classes are centered on slowing down and paying attention to our bodies as we move and gently calm the nervous system in a supportive, kink-friendly, community setting. Language used during class is gender-inclusive as well as trauma-sensitive (empowerment-focused) and classes are also suitable for people with injuries, chronic illness, and disabilities. While we may move together, attendees are always encouraged to move in a way that respects what their individual body and mind needs most of all. Modifications are also offered throughout class.

There is a place for you here whether you are a beginner, or a seasoned practitioner. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, gender identity, activity level, or lifestyle.

Some of the practices will include:

- Taoist Qigong
- Balancing exercises
- Acupressure
- Breathing exercises
- Mindful stretching
- Movements that inspire playfulness & laughter
- Using the body scan meditation for greater awareness
- Seated Insight meditations, walking meditation

Other Class Notes:

The overall flow of this class engages awareness of the body in movement and in rest, bringing energy and release to areas of tightness or injury.

This is NOT an "exercise" class yet there is motion (joint opening, some stretching, energy cultivation) and people can get stronger with continued practice.

This is a healing practice, without any guarantee of specific individual results. If you have a significant injury we ask that you check with your physician and practice caution as well as self-care as a participant.
