Playing With Intention & Connection

If you're flogging someone, are you just beating them?

Or are you saying something?

...That they're strong and disciplined?
...That it's safe to let go?
...That they're there to serve you and they'll stay there until you're good and finished?

Creating a mood, playing with intention, these create connection and intimacy, whether it's with a long-term partner or someone you've just met. Among other topics, this class covers:

- Theatre skills! Using touch, distance, breath, and eye contact to create a connection with different emotional tones. ("Intimate and connected" isn't necessarily soft and sensual.)
- Letting your initial contact, your check-ins, your play position serve your intention
- The risks of emotional intimacy
- The role of bottoms and submissives in creating connection

This class uses a lecture + demonstrations format. To highlight the fact that highly connected scenes can be created using any tools, we focus the demonstrations on the kinds of scenes most often engaged in by beginners: impact play and rough body play.

Flickerflame derives energy and connection from pain, yours or hers. Her playstyle ranges from lyrical to brutal and rarely requires more furniture than a wall and a floor (wall optional). She enjoys thoughtful conversations about BDSM: if you have played with her, she has probably asked you why you do what you do. Flicker has been active in the BDSM community since 2007 and has taught for a variety of groups and conventions in Ohio and California.

@Desert_Fire will serve as the demo bottom for this class.
