[Kink as Healthcare: Threat or Menace?]

Kinky shenanigans can be fun, exciting, fulfilling, and emotionally satisfying! But is that 'healing?'
The Kvetches are gonna host Dr. Russell Stambaugh - sexologist and alt-sex psychologist - and open the floor to take YOUR questions to him.
Wondering how we would even know if kink "heals" your sexual, mental or emotional health? Is such a concept worth consideration or potentially self-defeating? Fifteen years ago, Russell's field of sex education and therapy was swept by the impulse to reframe everything around sex 'health'. But who gets to determine what that means? What are the challenges, potential rewards or dangers in looking at our sexy fun times through such a lens? What do YOU want to bring up? Join us for the first ever Hella Kvetch live experience and help us grill a renowned kink shrink!

About Dr Russell Stambaugh...
"I was a clinical psychologist in private practice until 2015. I was a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists since 1995, and maintained a Diplomate in Sex Therapy from 2005-2019. I served in AASECT leadership 2000-18, including service as a Director 2004-2009. In June, 2015, I was awarded the Distinguished Service to AASECT Award for the second time. I chaired AASECT AltSex Special Interest Group from 2011-15. In May of 2017, I was jointly awarded a 'lifetime achievement award in training, research and advocacy' by The National Coalition of Sexual Freedom (NCSF) and The Community-Academic Consortium for Research on Alternative Sexualities (CARAS). It has since been renamed the Race Bannon Advocacy Award. In 2018 I was named to the Board of NCSF.(2018-present).
I have been studying sexual deviance, sexual variation, and the psychology of sexuality for 33 years. I retired in 2015 due to stage 3 lung cancer, which I have survived for 6+ years. Before taking graduate training in clinical psychology at the University of Michigan, I served as a confederate of the experimenter in prisoners dilemma experiments, managed a head store, was third author in the first use of social survey methodology on a governmental elite, and served as site coordinator for Origins '78, the premier national wargaming convention.
I live a quiet life in Ann Arbor with my spouse of 37 years and Khatze where we diligently practice social distancing. We have a grown daughter who listened to our glowing reports of California and moved there to teach science. In our defense, this was before they decided to burn it down!
