Kinky, Colorful, Conscious: A POC Roundtable Discussion

Inspired by Colorful Kinksters Vancouver, and recognizing a need within our own community, VoxBody Studio brought you Kinky, Colorful, Conscious: A POC roundtable discussion group. Due to increased demand for similar groups in more locations Wicked Grounds brings you the MUNCH EDITION!!

What we are
We are a roundtable style discussion group specifically aimed at those individuals who often fall into the "othered" category. We are a safe space to discuss various subjects openly and honestly without the judgement that comes from the filtered lens of those considered to be at the top of the "social hierarchy".

What we want to do
We want to discuss subjects including, but not limited to, our experiences as people of color and culturally marginalized individuals, educational and social opportunities within our intersectional kink communities aimed towards us and for us, and opportunities to meet like-minded individuals and for constructive dialogue on the challenges and possible solutions to things unique to our experiences as minorities within the kink community as a whole.

If you wish to attend
Our first meeting will not have an entrance fee, but we encourage you to support the space any way you can. This is to ensure that all who meet the requirements and wish to attend, can do so without the worry of financial or personal hardship. The hosts reserve the right to rescind admission to the discussion for any reason at any time if they feel the individual does not meet the criteria of the group, does not contribute to the groups goals, or if they believe the individual comes with "ill intentions" counter-intuitive of the goals of the group.

In order to create a safe space where individuals feel free and open to discuss sensitive subjects of race, gender, and social inequality, this will be a closed event limited to specific groups of marginalized people. If you meet any one of the below criteria you are welcomed to participate fully in the discussion (subject to consenting to our house codes of conduct).

-are visible minorities (POCs) ;and/or
-have 1 or more parents who are visible minorities (sometimes called mixed race); and/or
- have the lived experience of systemic oppression based on race, ethnicity, culture, mother tongue, place of origin, or heritage (have experienced sociologically defined racism).
-all intersectionalities of POC are welcome if you are a LGBTQ+ POC
You. ARE. welcome.

On Allies
We love and appreciate our allies and thank them for their continued effort and support. However we ask that allies not be in attendance until the group has established their space and deemed it appropriate to open the discussion to vetted, invited allies, to be determined at a later date. An ally is anyone that does not fall into at least one of the previously outlined categories. If you are unsure if you are considered a participant or an ally, please do not hesitate to contact us at for clarification.

This event was created and hosted by a mixed race, kinky individual with support and encouragement from an ally who has offered their time and space to make this event possible. It has been expanded through the generous offerings of information and resources from our local kink communities who recognized a need, and created a space for it to be filled.
